SAMARKAND AND GDANSK: A NEW BRIDGE IN EDUCATION
The ISFT Institute delegation returned from Poland with significant results and cooperation agreements with Europe
In the modern world, education knows no borders. Integrating Uzbekistan’s higher education system into international standards and providing young people with world-class knowledge are among today’s key priorities. With this noble goal, our institute’s delegation successfully completed an official visit to Poland and returned to Samarkand.
This visit was not merely introductory; it was a practical mission aimed at establishing strong ties between higher education institutions of the two countries.
On January 9 of this year, the delegation of the Samarkand branch of the ISFT Institute visited the University of Gdańsk — a university with centuries of history and high academic prestige, located in Gdańsk, Poland. At a high-level meeting held at the Faculty of Law and Administration, the strategic directions of bilateral cooperation were discussed.
The negotiations were conducted in a constructive spirit, based on the principles of openness and mutual trust. The ISFT delegation was led by Abdumalik Soliev, Director of the Samarkand branch, and included Deputy Directors Zokir Musinov and Zafar Madraimov, as well as Azizbek Alisherov, Head of the International Cooperation Department. On the host side, participants included Professor Marcin M. Wiszowaty, Vice-Dean of the Faculty, and Professor Edvardas Juchnevičius, responsible for international relations.
The agreements reached during the visit truly open wide the doors of European education for the youth of Uzbekistan. In particular:
— According to the agreement, starting from March 2026, a group of talented students from the ISFT Institute will begin studying at the University of Gdańsk. This offers our students a unique opportunity to directly experience the European school of law and administration.
— The parties agreed to develop joint educational programs and to introduce a double degree system for graduates in the future.
— Scientific integration: plans include the exchange of faculty members, as well as the joint organization of international conferences and academic seminars.
The representatives of the University of Gdańsk, while hosting the Uzbek delegation, highly praised the educational reforms in Uzbekistan and expressed their readiness for long-term partnership with the ISFT Institute.
